ABOUT ME
Graphic design experience. Professional, creative, corporate design experience, great organizational skills—I have been consistently commended for the excellence of my work. From small start-up companies to multi-million dollar corporations, my 21 years of design experience includes creation of a wide variety of print materials, ranging from one-page flyers requiring minimal direction to multi-faceted team projects requiring frequent collaboration.
Prior to becoming an independent graphic designer, I was the Creative Services Manager at GN Danavox, a large manufacturer and distributor of hearing instruments. In addition to the design and production of company collateral and marketing materials, my responsibilities included the development of a retail identity program used in over 70 offices nationwide.
Forever detail oriented, I enjoy the challenge of turning complex content into pleasing-to-look-at technical consumer and sales materials. Clients appreciate that my work is functional and user-friendly. I listen carefully to what others need and want, track projects well, and am easy to work with.
Some other hats I’ve worn. I've also been a teacher, software developer and composer. My teaching positions included developing lessons and curriculum for elementary students and multi-level university courses. As a software developer, I worked with subject experts to write pilot training and corporate safety lessons. As a composer, I combined the musical elements learned as a young child with contemporary ideas to compose new music. Now, as a graphic designer, I can draw upon these experiences to add depth, integrity, and sometimes a touch of whimsy, to my designs.
I love living in Minneapolis. It's a superb city for biking, going to performances, museums, savoring the food of many diverse cuisines, volunteering, sports, even Nordic walking, and of course, snow. And I love traveling, whether skydiving in Florida or camping under prehistoric stones in the Outer Hebrides: I'll go.
